Move the way your foot moves
Most shoes decide the shape of your foot for you — a narrow toe box squeezes the front, and a stiff sole stops the foot flexing where it naturally would.
The BegaStep takes the opposite approach. The toe box stays broad, the sole bends and twists freely, and the upper is soft from the first wear. There is no break-in period because there is very little structure to break in.

Wide toe box — room to spread
The front of the shoe keeps its width instead of narrowing to a point, so toes sit side by side rather than being pressed together.
Flexible sole — bends where you bend
Thin and pliable, with no rigid shank. It rolls with the foot through each step instead of forcing a fixed curve underneath it.
Knit upper — soft from the first wear
Knitted in one piece so there is almost no stitching to rub, and light enough that you stop noticing it. Laces run through the knit itself.
Low drop — heel level with the forefoot
Heel and forefoot sit close to the same height, so you are standing level rather than tilted forward as you would be in a raised heel.

How do I know which size to order?
Measure your foot from heel to longest toe while standing, then compare that figure to the measurement chart. Send the form above and we will email the chart with guidance for your measurement.
Does the form place an order?
It reserves a pair in your size. No payment is taken on this page and no card details are requested at any point on the site. We email you to confirm availability and the total, and payment is arranged from there.
Will it suit a wide foot?
The toe box is cut broader than a conventional trainer, which many people with wider feet prefer. Fit still varies from person to person, so check your measurement against the chart first.
Can I use my own orthotic insole?
Yes. The supplied insole lifts out so an orthotic can go in its place. A thicker orthotic takes up volume and may change how the shoe fits.
How should I clean them?
Wipe the knit with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry away from direct heat. Machine washing and tumble drying will shorten the life of a knitted upper.
Is this shoe suitable for a foot condition?
We cannot advise on that. This is an ordinary consumer shoe, not a medical device, and nothing here is medical advice. If you are managing a foot or joint condition, speak to a qualified clinician about what footwear suits you.
